Spring Fundraising Campaign - E.coli in river recreation hotspots
We know we weren’t alone in watching in horror as the events unfolded in Dirty Business, Channel 4’s docudrama on the sewage crisis which aired recently. This was a hard watch, for the depiction of chronic damage done to our rivers, but mostly because of the devastating human stories portrayed.
As a result we want to spring into action to monitor E.coli in key locations where people access our rivers the most. E.coli is a harmful bacteria that can get into the water through sewage discharges from wastewater treatment works, septic tanks and from agriculture. We want to collect evidence to keep people safe and stop this pollution.
We’re aiming to raise £2000 to pay for E.coli testing equipment and training our River Guardians. Can you help?
