We are thrilled to announce that our Volunteer Coordinator, Keir Smith, recently won the CIWEM Rivers & Coastal Group Early Careers Challenge!
This challenge saw 36 Early Career Professionals tasked with creating podcasts around uncertainty and the challenge of putting policy into practice.
The group were split into teams of 2-4 people and focused on creating high quality audio, followed by presentations to the group on the experience and what they had learned from the process.
As the only representative from the Rivers Trust family, Keir and his team explored the precarious uncertainty of policy surrounding Chalk Streams and how we can protect these rare ecosystems in the future, focusing on bridging the gap between policymakers, local authority and the general public.
We were very excited and proud to hear that Keir’s team won the competition.
Here’s the podcast, it’s a great listen!
